Shanxi province saw its regional GDP hit 2.55 trillion yuan ($366.88 billion) in 2025, marking a 4.0 percent increase from the previous year. 

The primary sector contributed 141.05 billion yuan, up 4.5 percent, while the secondary sector added 1.03 trillion yuan, marking a rise of 3.1 percent. The tertiary sector climbed 4.5 percent to reach 1.38 trillion yuan.

Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries, including related services, achieved an added value of 150.2 billion yuan, marking a 4.5 percent rise from the previous year. 

The industrial sector above a designated size saw a 4.9 percent increase in added value. Emerging industries showed robust growth, with the computer and office equipment manufacturing sector surging by 121.6 percent, the new energy sector rising by 25.3 percent, the new materials industry adding 6.2 percent, and the high-end equipment manufacturing industry growing 5.7 percent.

The service sector's added value grew by 4.5 percent year-on-year. Notably, the transportation, storage, and postal sector grew by 7.0 percent, wholesale and retail by 5.5 percent, and accommodation and catering by 4.6 percent.

Tourism remained vibrant, with key monitored scenic spots welcoming 124.55 million visits, a 14.8 percent increase, generating ticket revenues of 3.49 billion yuan, up 9.1 percent, and operating revenues of 7.88 billion yuan, up 10.5 percent.

The province's per capita disposable income reached 33,923 yuan, a 4.6 percent rise. Urban residents enjoyed a per capita disposable income of 44,649 yuan, growing by 3.7 percent, while rural residents' per capita disposable income increased by 5.5 percent to 19,766 yuan.

Employment remained stable, with 473,000 new urban jobs created, achieving 105.0 percent of the annual target.
