North China's Shanxi province is set to develop new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions and accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system with distinct advantages to implement the requirements of this year's government work report.

In recent years, Shanxi has employed digital and green technologies to upgrade and enhance industries such as coking, steel, non-ferrous metals, forging and casting, and building materials. The province is promoting equipment renewal, standard upgrades, and product iteration to continuously improve these industries' core competitiveness.

Shanxi is cultivating and expanding strategic emerging industries, including high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, electronic information, new energy vehicles, and the low-altitude economy. The province is also strategically positioning itself in future industries such as quantum technology, bio-manufacturing, and embodied intelligence, striving for breakthroughs in multiple fields.

The province is enhancing traditional services such as accommodation, catering, wholesale, retail, transportation, and warehousing. It is accelerating the development of living services, including health, childcare, sports, domestic services, and property management, as well as productive services like modern logistics, finance, exhibitions, and technology services.

Shanxi also promotes the deep integration of modern services with advanced manufacturing and modern agriculture, continuously expanding the service sector's role in supporting economic transformation, creating jobs, and improving livelihoods.
