The International Plein-air Base in Northern China, registered in Zuoquan county, Jinzhong city, Shanxi province, was recently awarded the "Five-Star International Sketching Base" certificate by the International Federation of Sketching Base Ltd. This recognition makes the Zuoquan base the first in North China to receive such an honor.

The base boasts unique natural ecological resources, comprehensive study and research facilities, and a digital art creation center. Since opening in September 2022, it has made significant strides, becoming the province's only national-level cultural and tourism model for rural vitalization.

The base has established strategic partnerships with 95 domestic universities and colleges and has organized numerous international art events and competitions. It has become North China's largest, most well-equipped, and most capable sketching base, with the most extensive network of cooperating institutions and the broadest international influence.

The base showcases many professional sketching facilities, including artist studios and sketching stations. It designs seasonal-themed routes, creating a true "paradise for sketching".
