Shanxi athlete wins gold at FIG Trampoline World Cup

On April 7, the 2025 Trampoline Gymnastics World Cup in Riccione, Italy, concluded with a remarkable victory for Shanxi athlete Hu Yicheng, who clinched gold in the Women's Individual Trampoline event with the highest score of the competition.

The Chinese team participated with a full roster of four male and four female athletes for the individual trampoline events. The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has revamped the scoring rules for the new Olympic cycle, placing greater emphasis on difficulty to encourage athletes to perform more challenging and visually impressive routines.

The Women's Individual Trampoline event consisted of three rounds. In the qualifying round, Hu executed a routine with a difficulty of 15.300, earning a score of 57.500 and securing first place. In the semifinals, she maintained her strong performance with a score of 56.410, ranking third and advancing to the finals. In the final round, Hu showcased her exceptional skills, achieving the highest technical score of 17.3 and a total score of 57.030 to win the championship.

Hu and her teammate Zhang Xinxin also demonstrated excellent teamwork to secure silver in the Women's Synchronized Trampoline event. In the Men's Individual Trampoline event, Chinese athlete Yan Langyu delivered a routine with a difficulty of 20.0, earning a score of 65.400 and taking home the silver medal.
