Shanxi province recently released the "Shanxi Province 2025 Energy Transition and Ecological Management Renewable Energy Demonstration Base Plan", outlining the construction of three to five provincial-level renewable energy and ecological management demonstration bases.

According to the plan, Shanxi will advance its comprehensive energy revolution by focusing on coal mining subsidence areas, saline-alkali land, and sandy land (collectively referred to as the "three types of land"). The initiative aims to combine new energy development with environmental management, developing a series of large-scale provincial wind and photovoltaic power projects that are green, advanced, economical, safe and efficient to promote the high-quality development of the province's new energy industry.

Shanxi will target areas where the "three types of land" are concentrated to plan and construct three to five provincial-level renewable energy and ecological management demonstration bases, scientifically determining their wind and photovoltaic power generation capacity. Renewable energy construction and ecological management will be carried out in parallel, aiming for early completion and operation.

To ensure the smooth progress of the demonstration bases, Shanxi will focus on the "three types of land" and surrounding usable land resources, implementing a large-scale, intensive layout. The demonstration bases will have a minimum scale of 1 million kilowatts, combining efficient land use with environmental protection and restoration.
