North China's Shanxi province recently announced the "2025 Shanxi Provincial Cultural Benefit Program", outlining a comprehensive plan to hold 20 provincial-level exemplary cultural events, establish 500 public art troupes, cultivate 2,000 local cultural talents, and select 1,500 village cultural leaders.

The provincial-level exemplary cultural events include an instrumental performance, folk art showcases, and the "Art into Communities" initiative, among others.

Municipal and county-level governments are encouraged to use these provincial events as models to enhance local cultural activities and boost public participation. The program aims to reach the grassroots by bringing cultural activities to scenic spots, enterprises, villages, communities, and military camps.

Among the 500 public art troupes is the Dongpu Dragon Dance Team from Xiaodian district, Taiyuan. Each troupe is expected to conduct at least 30 events throughout the year.

The 2,000 local cultural talents include individuals like Lin Yinghua from Xiaodian district. Each talent is tasked with conducting at least 12 cultural, skill and art transmission and training sessions this year.

The 1,500 village cultural leaders include Zhang Taoqing from Xiaodian district. Each leader will focus on managing and serving grassroots cultural venues and village art teams and organizing at least 12 village and community cultural activities this year.
