9th PYIFF calls for entries from around the world

The Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival (PYIFF) has announced the call for entries for its 9th edition, which will take place from Sept 24 to 30 in the ancient city of Pingyao, Shanxi province. Filmmakers worldwide are invited to submit their films starting April 14, with the submission window open until July 15.
Filmmakers wishing to participate in the 9th PYIFF can submit their entries through the official PYIFF website. Detailed submission guidelines and information are available on the official PYIFF WeChat public platform and Weibo account. A program planning team led by the PYIFF artistic director will select films to be featured in the festival's screening sections.
The PYIFF comprises four main programs: Screening, Market, Academics, and Cultivation. The Screening unit includes the "Crouching Tigers" section, which focuses on new international directors, the "Hidden Dragons" section, which highlights emerging Chinese directors, and the "Galas" section, which showcases significant commercial films, noteworthy works, and masterpieces. The "Made-in-Shanxi" section, which aims to promote the development of the Shanxi film industry, and the "Retrospective/Tributes" section, which screens classic films with unique perspectives and academic value, are also included.
