Shanxi province's tourism market is experiencing a surge in bookings as the May Day holiday approaches, reflecting a strong momentum in consumer activity.
According to data from Tongcheng Travel, the tourism demand in Shanxi is expected to continue rising with the upcoming May Day and Dragon Boat Festival holidays. Most tourists traveling to Shanxi are from Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Chongqing, and Yunnan. The most popular attractions in Shanxi are expected to be Jinci Museum, the Yungang Grottoes, Taihang Grand Canyon, Guangsheng Temple, and Yingxian Wooden Pagoda.
"Since early April, our travel agency has received numerous inquiries about group tours and customized travel packages for the May Day holiday," said Li Gaochao, assistant general manager of Shanxi Baohua Shengshi International Travel Agency Co. "Our clientele includes families, parent-child groups, and corporate team-building groups. When it comes to travel destinations, mid-to-long-distance domestic tours and outbound trips are particularly popular."
