Shanxi culture shines at BLCU's 20th World Culture Carnival

The Shanxi exhibition area at the 20th Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) World Culture Carnival was bustling with visitors on April 26, offering captivating cultural exchange activities.

Themed "Beyond Peaks: Exploring Shanxi", it featured the cultural icon Black Myth: Wukong and demonstrations of traditional crafts such as paper cutting, dough figurines, and shadow puppetry. Visitors were guided to explore the exhibition as if they were characters in the game. The application of VR to recreate ancient architecture and AI to replicate historical scenes allowed attendees to appreciate the charm of Shanxi culture through a blend of technology and tradition.

Yang Chunquan, director of the Shanxi Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, introduced the province's new development achievements in industrial transformation, energy revolution, and opening-up to the attending diplomats and cultural counsellors. He emphasized Shanxi's commitment to deepening domestic and international exchanges and building more bridges of international friendship.

An official responsible for cultural and tourism affairs at the Mexican Embassy in China expressed her excitement about participating in the Shanxi-hosted cultural exchange activities. Having previously visited Shanxi, she expressed her deepened understanding of its cultural heritage and hoped for future cultural, tourism, and industry collaborations.

Shanxi has participated in this BLCU event for three consecutive years, showcasing its rich historical heritage and modern industrial vitality, deepening practical cooperation with various countries, and injecting new momentum into building a higher-level open economy.
