As the May Day holiday approaches, Shanxi province is gearing up for a surge in tourists by enriching its cultural and tourism attractions. Various scenic spots are offering unique activities to enhance visitor experiences, presenting a cultural and tourism feast.
At the Hongtong Dahuaishu Scenic Area, a series of "root-seeking" events have been planned, aiming to immerse visitors in the unique charm of "home culture". The Fun Sports and Ancient Games event allows tourists to engage in traditional activities such as touhu and cuju, offering a hands-on experience of ancient entertainment.

Yunqiu Mountain Scenic Area will host a variety of immersive interactive experiences, including a springtime check-in activity, climbing challenge and ice cave adventure. The Twelve Flower Gods will parade through the scenic area and perform dances, while visitors dressed in hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) will enjoy free admission throughout May.
The Guandi Temple Scenic Area also promises a rich array of activities from May 1 to 5. Tourists can participate in the Guan Yu Parade on May 5, experiencing the blessing and sacrificial ceremonies. During the day, visitors can enjoy DIY crafts at the amusement park, while at night, they can marvel at the spectacular light fountain show.
Meanwhile, Tongtianxia Scenic Area will launch its Spring Fun and Canyon Carnival over the holiday. Interactive activities such as hanfu fashion shows, flash mob dances, guzheng performances, and roly-poly doll shows will be held, allowing tourists to revel in the canyon's natural beauty.
