Shanxi's fire and rescue department conducted a mountain rescue drill on the Xiyagou cliff road in the Wangmangling scenic area in Lingchuan county on Monday, the 17th National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day.

The live television broadcast simulated a mountain rescue scene at an altitude of 1700 meters, providing an education about mountain safety, emergency evacuation, and self-rescue techniques. The drill focused on the core challenges of mountain rescue, simulating multiple complex scenarios.

In the simulation, two tourists were trapped at the bottom of a nearly 50-meter cliff, with urgent rescue needs and complex geographical conditions.

After receiving the emergency call, the Jincheng City Fire Rescue Brigade's command center activated the mountain rescue drill plan and swiftly deployed a team of over 30 professional mountain rescuers to the scene.

The rescuers carried out rescue operations, including constructing rope anchor points, setting up a pulley system, building a rope bridge, adjusting force distribution, and transferring patients. They completed the drill with excellent teamwork and professional skills.
