Shanxi province is advancing domestic and international opening-up, integrating into the global economy, and establishing a comprehensive new framework for external engagement.
In the first quarter of this year, the province witnessed a surge in foreign trade activity. A total of 1,444 enterprises recorded import and export achievements, with a net addition of 158 companies, marking a 12.3 percent year-on-year increase. Small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises saw a 12.5 percent year-on-year increase in import and export activities.
Shanxi is actively integrating into the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In March, during the ZGC Forum, Shanxi hosted the "Industrial Digital Innovation Development Conference". Companies like Landspace and Unitree Robotics reached technological cooperation agreements with the province, promoting the intelligent upgrade of its traditional industries.
Landmark projects such as the Doboj Hospital in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the new Siem Reap International Airport in Cambodia, undertaken by Shanxi Construction Investment Group, have become new symbols of "Shanxi Construction" going global.
The province's traditional Chinese medicine enterprises have also entered into a strategic partnership with CCTV International, promoting the global reach of traditional Chinese medicine culture.
The China-Europe Railway Express continues to expand, with five new routes added in 2024, including "Linfen-Russia", bringing the total to 23 regular routes covering 16 countries and 48 cities. The expansion of Taiyuan International Mail Exchange Bureau and the opening of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport's cargo terminal have formed a comprehensive "air-rail-land" logistics network.
