Shanxi province has established two new academician workstations to drive industrial upgrades and scientific progress, following a rigorous process of recommendation, qualification review, on-site investigation, and expert evaluation.

The two new workstations are the "Academician Workstation of Shanxi Coal Gasification Equipment Technology" and the "Academician Workstation of the Meteorological Support for Soil and Water Conservation in the Middle Reaches of the Yellow River".

The coal gasification equipment technology academician workstation is set up at Shanxi Yangmei Chemical Machinery Group Co. It brings Academician Yue Guangxi from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and his team. Academician Yue is a distinguished expert in thermal engineering, with a long-term focus on clean coal combustion technology and coal gasification technology.

The addition of Yue's team is expected to facilitate breakthroughs in coal gasification equipment technology for Yangmei Chemical Machinery, enhancing the company's core competitiveness. This will propel Shanxi's coal chemical industry towards high-end, intelligent, green development, further cementing the province's leading position in this field.

The meteorological support academician workstation is at the Shanxi Climate Center, with Academician Li Zechun from the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Academician Li is a renowned expert in weather dynamics and numerical weather prediction, dedicated to the engineering and scientific research of atmospheric science, weather forecasting, and prediction systems.

Academician Li and his team will provide more precise meteorological support for soil and water conservation efforts in the middle reaches of the Yellow River. This will aid in the scientific formulation of conservation measures, contributing to better protecting the Yellow River basin's ecological environment.
