On June 2, Li Yunfeng, Party secretary of Linfen, Shanxi province, met with Sheikh Salman Sabah, president of the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC), who was in Linfen to attend the Asian Shotgun Cup 2025.

Li expressed gratitude to the ASC for entrusting Linfen with the hosting of the Asian Shotgun Cup. Li emphasized that in recent years, Linfen has prioritized the high-quality development of sports, hosting numerous international events based on its rich sports history and burgeoning sports projects. Linfen is committed to making the Asian Shotgun Cup 2025 a high-level sports event with the full support of the city.

Li also highlighted that Linfen is currently in its prime development phase, with broad prospects for cooperation with Kuwait. He expressed a desire to use the event as an opportunity to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Kuwait, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and strengthen economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two regions.

Sheikh Salman Sabah praised Linfen's organizational capabilities and robust facilities. He expressed hope that Linfen would host more international shooting events in the future. He noted that under the leadership of the two countries' heads of state, Kuwait-China relations have reached a historic high. Sheikh Salman Sabah pledged to share his experiences in Linfen with more friends and businesses in Kuwait, encouraging them to visit and invest in Linfen, elevating bilateral cooperation to new heights.
