Over the past year, the 23rd Chinese (Shanxi) Medical Team in Djibouti has garnered widespread acclaim from the Djiboutian government, local citizens, Chinese enterprises, and the Chinese community in Djibouti for their strong medical ethics and reliable performance.

La Nation, a mainstream media outlet in Djibouti, extensively covered the team's work, while the Radio Television of Djibouti featured them in two separate reports. The team collaborated closely with local medical staff, significantly enhancing the health and well-being of the local population.

Comprising 12 members, including 10 clinical doctors, a translator, and a chef, the team arrived in Djibouti on June 15, 2024. They immediately began work at Peltier Hospital, handling outpatient and emergency cases, inpatient care, and surgeries.

By the end of April 2025, the team had seen over 27,540 outpatients, managed 12,265 inpatient cases, provided 8,249 acupuncture and massage treatments, performed 2,978 surgeries, and handled 1,782 emergency cases.

In addition to their hospital duties, the team frequently ventured into Djibouti's inland areas and Chinese enterprises to offer free medical consultations. They conducted four large-scale free clinics and five corporate health check-ups. In addition to direct medical care, the team also focused on promoting Chinese traditional culture and medical knowledge. They organized a series of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Emergency Response" activities at the Confucius Institute in Djibouti.

The director of Peltier Hospital expressed deep respect for the professionalism and dedication of the Shanxi medical team. He noted that their presence significantly alleviated the local medical resource constraints and provided higher-quality medical services to patients.
