The Shanxi-Hong Kong Industry Exchange and Promotion Conference was held on June 9 in Taiyuan, Shanxi province. Representatives from both regions' cultural and tourism sectors gathered to explore new opportunities for cooperation.

Ren Yongfu, deputy director of the Culture and Tourism Department of Shanxi Province, emphasized that cooperation between Shanxi and Hong Kong extends beyond cultural and tourism exchanges. He hoped this event would encourage more Hong Kong residents and businesses to explore Shanxi and seize development opportunities, while also inspiring Shanxi tourists and enterprises to visit Hong Kong.

Yiu Pak-Leung, legislative council member for the Tourism Functional Constituency of Hong Kong, suggested that Shanxi could further employ Hong Kong's strengths in the future. By integrating Chinese cultural IP, they can create "Shanxi-Hong Kong Multi-stop" tourism routes in overseas markets, allowing international travelers to transit through Hong Kong and experience Shanxi's vibrant culture.

Tommy Tam Kwong-Shun, chairman of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, and Ren Yongfu signed a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism in tourism route development, market promotion, and mutual visitor exchange.

Representatives from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong Ocean Park, Hong Kong Disneyland, the Taiyuan cultural and tourism bureau, and Jinci Museum showcased unique cultural and tourism products and preferential policies, highlighting the charm of both regions.

Industry representatives also discussed the design of customized tourism products and visitor exchange plans. Several companies reached preliminary cooperation agreements on-site, activating both markets and deepening industrial synergy.
