Shanxi opens 35 themed tourism routes

Shanxi province is boosting the summer cultural tourism market by launching 35 tourism routes under five major themes: "Summer Retreat", "Study Tours", "Retracing Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin's Route", "Driving the Three No 1 Tourist Highways", and "Red Classics".

The "Summer Retreat" theme features the "Seeking Ancient Sites – Summer Retreat Tour" route, which begins in Datong and passes through attractions such as the Yungang Grottoes, Yanmenguan Pass, and Luya Mountain, allowing tourists to explore ancient sites while enjoying cool scenery.

The "Study Tour" themed routes encompass archaeological civilizations, the wisdom of Shanxi merchants, ethnic integration, ancient architectural wonders, the Red Taihang Mountains, and Yellow River culture, with attractions including Guandi Temple and Jinci Temple.

Through the "Retracing Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin's route", tourists can follow the footsteps of the two famous architects' historical investigations, visiting sites like the Liang Sicheng Memorial Hall, Shanhua Temple, Huayan Temple, and Shuanglin Temple to experience the province's profound historical and cultural heritage.

With the "Three No 1 Tourist Highways" driving tours, tourists can explore Yellow River culture along the Yellow River No 1 Tourist Highway, visiting attractions like Laoniuwan and Hukou Waterfall.

Ten "Red Classics" themed routes will allow visitors to hear revolutionary tales of the Red Army and explore the Jin-Cha-Ji revolutionary base areas, inheriting the spirit of the Red Revolution.
