The Shanxi Institute of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation recently released the revised edition of the "Red Shanxi Atlas" and the map "Flaming Shanxi", showcasing the epic history of Shanxi province's resistance against Japanese aggression.

These maps are a profound tribute to the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The new edition of the "Red Shanxi Atlas" is rooted in the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC), presenting the magnificent journey of the Shanxi people under the leadership of the CPC from national independence to modernization through nine chapters.

The atlas also includes international, Chinese, and Shanxi war timelines, adding classic battle examples such as the "Changxing Village Cave Dwelling Defense Battle". Special thematic sections like "The Eighth Route Army's Battlefield in Shanxi during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression" and "Atrocities of the Japanese Army" construct a comprehensive historical overview.

The map "Flaming Shanxi" connects iconic battles, heroic stories, and historical event locations. Through historical photos and hand-drawn illustrations, it showcases the war of resistance, highlighting Shanxi's historical contributions in coordinated operations between the rear and front lines.

These two maps systematically connect the red sites, creating a red route that integrates commemoration, research, and cultural tourism. They will help revitalize Shanxi's revolutionary cultural resources and promote the integrated development of culture and tourism in Shanxi.
