Shanxi launches first import China-Europe (Asia) return freight train
A China-Europe (Asia) freight train carrying approximately 3,000 metric tons of chromium-iron alloy arrived on July 17 at the storage and operation area platform of Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group's procurement center, marking the first chromium-iron import China-Europe (Asia) return freight train to Shanxi province.
This development represents a significant cooperative step forward between Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group and Huayun International Land Port.
Departing from Zyryanovsk, Kazakhstan, the train entered China through the Khorgos Port in Xinjiang, crossed the China-Kazakhstan border, traversed the Hexi Corridor, and arrived at the plant of Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group after around 13 days.
By shortening the transportation cycle, this train reduces enterprise logistics costs, enabling Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group to ensure a stable and efficient supply of raw materials for its stainless steel industry chain.
The freight train connects resource-rich areas in Central Asia with advanced manufacturing clusters in Shanxi, promoting a bi-directional linkage between "resource input" and "industrial upgrading".
This milestone also signifies the transition of the province's China-Europe (Asia) freight trains from a "one-way operation" to a "two-way circulation," accelerating the formation of a diversified international logistics channel system.
