Shanxi province has approved the establishment of the Shanxi Vocational University of Culture and Tourism that incorporates Shanxi Arts Vocational College, Shanxi Tourism Vocational College, Taiyuan Tourism Vocational College, and Shanxi Youth Vocational College.

The new university is an independently established public undergraduate vocational school sponsored by the provincial government and managed by the Shanxi Provincial Education Department. It aims to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents required for regional economic and social development, with a provisional full-time student enrollment of 12,000.

The existing students of the four colleges above will continue to be educated and managed at their current locations following the original model. Tuition and accommodation fees will adhere to the previous fee policies. Upon passing graduation assessments, students will be awarded graduation certificates in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education.

The Shanxi Jinju Opera Theater, Shanxi Peking Opera Theater, Shanxi Huajin Dance Drama Troupe, and other affiliated institutions will be managed by the Shanxi Vocational University of Culture and Tourism, while retaining their legal status and operating independently.

Shanxi requires relevant departments to guide the school in focusing on the integration of culture and tourism, optimizing the structure of disciplines and majors, and establishing innovative platforms for industry-education integration.

The Shanxi Provincial Education Department will guide the school in enhancing its educational standards, aiming to build it into a nationally distinctive and top-tier undergraduate vocational university and contributing to the province's high-quality development.
