Shanxi Taekwondo athlete secures two golds at Rhine-Ruhr 2025

Shanxi athlete Xing Jiani has clinched gold medals in the women's 67kg category and team event in Taekwondo during the 2025 Summer World University Games (Rhine-Ruhr 2025) in Germany.
Rhine-Ruhr 2025 was attended by delegations from 102 countries and regions, with the Chinese delegation sending 116 athletes to compete in 14 major events and over 90 sub-events.
Taekwondo was one of the 18 major events featured at this year's games. In the women's 67kg final held on July 20, Xing Jiani defeated Spanish athlete Moreno Reyes to claim gold.
In the women's team final on July 23, Xing Jiani, Guo Qing, and Mu Wenzhe teamed up for the first time, demonstrating excellent coordination and defeating the South Korean team to secure gold.
Born in Linfen, Xing was scouted by the city's Taekwondo association in 2015 and joined the provincial team for professional training. She previously won the World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships Final in 2023. In April of this year, Xing won the women's 67kg and below category at the 2025 National Taekwondo Championships Final.
Overall, the Chinese team concluded with four gold, two silver, and three bronze medals in Taekwondo events at Rhine-Ruhr 2025.
