This year, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Transportation has been focusing on enhancing the efficiency of ongoing projects and accelerating the implementation of new projects to advance the construction of a comprehensive transportation hub in Central China.

Preparatory work is underway for 56 projects scheduled to commence this year, with projects like the Gujiao-Loufan-Fangshan and Yingxian-Fanshi highways, along with 16 ordinary national and provincial road projects, receiving approval. Seven ongoing projects are progressing, with a focus on expediting key ordinary national and provincial roads for energy transportation channels and town bypass projects.

Focusing on railway, highway, and civil aviation infrastructure, the province is advancing the Shanxi section of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail corridor, the "Four Vertical, Fifteen Horizontal and Thirty-Three Interconnected" expressway network, and the civil transport airport with "One Main Route and Eight Branch Airlines".

Shanxi has also established multiple domestic and international comprehensive transportation channels, strengthening connectivity with domestic regions like Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Bohai Rim, and the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as with international areas such as Central Asia and Europe, providing high-capacity, low-cost, and efficient transportation links.

A modern comprehensive transportation hub is rapidly taking shape, as progress is made in enhancing Shanxi's transportation infrastructure supply, transport services, sustainable development, and industry governance.
