Shanxi athletes win gold at TWG 2025 Chengdu

Hu Yicheng and Zhang Xinxin from Shanxi province have claimed gold in the women's synchronized trampoline event at the World Games (TWG) 2025 Chengdu, marking the Chinese delegation's 11th gold at the Games.

During the qualifiers, Hu and Zhang topped the leaderboard with a score of 50.590, securing their place in the semifinals. The duo maintained their exceptional performance in the semifinals, executing precise and coordinated routines to advance to the finals. In the final round, their outstanding performance earned them the championship title with a score of 51.340.

In a post-competition interview, Hu said, "This gold medal is a testament to our hard work and boosts our confidence for future competitions." Zhang expressed her excitement for meeting many skilled competitors, "We aim to learn from their strengths to improve our performance in upcoming events."

The Chinese sports delegation has sent a total of 321 athletes to compete in 28 major categories and 152 events at the World Games. Among them, Shanxi is represented by three athletes. Besides Hu and Zhang, Shanxi's Zhou Yuexin achieved a seventh-place finish in the long-distance canoe marathon event.
