Shanxi works to build medical digital imaging platform
Updated: 2025-08-14
Shanxi province is advancing the construction of its Medical Digital Imaging Cloud Platform, with 276 eligible secondary and higher public medical institutions across the province already integrated into the platform. This marks a significant milestone in achieving cross-hospital image sharing within Shanxi, allowing patients to access their imaging data anytime.
The platform is being developed under a "government-led, multi-party participation, and sustainable operation" model. It will ultimately feature five core business modules: Smart Imaging Cloud, Digital Imaging Services, Quality Control Platform, Training and Education Platform, and Research Platform. It aims to break down information barriers between medical institutions, enabling seamless sharing of imaging results.
The patient-facing applet has completed its functional development and registration and is now online. The public can view their imaging data by searching "Jiankang Shanxi" on WeChat.
The province will accelerate the platform's integration with electronic health cards and the examination and test result recognition system. This will ensure that patients visiting any hospital connected to the platform can have their images and reports quickly accessed by doctors.
After achieving full coverage of secondary and higher public medical institutions, the platform's reach will gradually extend to eligible grassroots healthcare institutions, such as township health centers and community health service centers, as well as private medical institutions.
