Shanxi athlete wins gold at 16th Asian Shooting Championships

Shanxi athlete Zhang Yifan, along with his teammates Hu Kai and You Changjie, won gold in the Men's 10m Air Pistol Team Finals at the 16th Asian Shooting Championships on Aug 18.
The competition was fierce, with teams from India, South Korea, and Iran vying for the top spot. However, the Chinese team, featuring the trio of Zhang, Hu, and You, delivered an outstanding performance, leading them to victory with a total score of 1,744 points. India and Iran secured the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
During the award ceremony, Liu Yi, the coach of the Shanxi shooting team and a national team coach, expressed his congratulations to Zhang Yifan for his remarkable performance on the international stage. "This competition served as a training opportunity to enhance Zhang's overall skills. It also provided valuable experience as preparation for the National Games," said Liu.
The 16th Asian Shooting Championships are being held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, from Aug 16 to 30. The Chinese shooting team has sent a delegation of 35 athletes to compete in rifle, pistol, and skeet shooting events.
