Shanxi province has welcomed 603 enterprises into the first batch of the 2025 Tech Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Database, underscoring achievements in nurturing tech-focused companies across the province.

These newly included enterprises span strategic emerging industries such as next-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, biomedicine, and new energy and energy conservation. Despite their varying sizes, these companies possess proprietary core technologies or unique products, showcasing significant innovation potential in niche markets.

Being part of this database entitles these enterprises to a range of policy benefits, including increased R&D tax deductions and interest subsidies on loans for tech SMEs. These incentives not only reduce R&D costs but also encourage sustained investment in technological innovation and accelerate the commercialization of scientific achievements.

In recent years, Shanxi has intensified efforts to nurture tech SMEs by improving evaluation mechanisms, simplifying application processes, and strengthening policy implementation, significantly bolstering the tech SME sector.

Shanxi plans to use the database to enhance dynamic management and precise services, ensuring that policy benefits reach enterprises swiftly and effectively, and aiding companies in overcoming technical challenges and expanding market share.

By establishing industry-academia-research collaboration platforms and organizing innovation capability enhancement training, Shanxi aims to facilitate the transition of more tech SMEs into high-tech enterprises and specialized, innovative "Little Giant" companies.
