Shanxi ICH summer consumption season yields fruitful results

On Aug 26, the 2025 Shanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Consumption Season (Summer) showcased its achievements in Datong, Shanxi province. The month-long consumption season has gathered nearly 200 ICH projects and over 300 inheritors from 11 cities, with total sales exceeding 2 million yuan ($279,760).

The achievement showcase event marked the launch of the Shanxi ICH Inheritors Support Plan by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, accompanied by the release of the first batch of premium ICH products and the unveiling of five ICH culinary routes.

The released ICH products featured 65 items from 11 cities across the province, spanning various fields, including traditional crafts, arts, and medicine. Notable entries, such as Daizhou Yellow Wine and Fushan Paper-Cutting, were featured on the consumer list, while Pork Knife-cut Noodles were named among Datong's top ten landmark foods.

Shanxi's culture and tourism department initiated the Shanxi ICH Inheritors Support Plan, aiming to provide comprehensive support for inheritors through cross-industry collaboration and new media empowerment. This initiative seeks to create a diverse communication matrix, showcasing both innovative and traditional ICH works and strengthening Shanxi's ICH image.

During the signing ceremony, the department also established strategic partnerships with Taiyuan KFC Co and Meituan. The Shanxi ICH Products JD Flagship Store was also launched, creating a new "online + offline" model to sustain ICH consumption.
