Shanxi welcomes new companies into tech SME database
Updated: 2025-09-02
A total of 1,231 companies were recently added to Shanxi province's first and second batches of Technology-Based Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Database for 2025, highlighting Shanxi's solid progress in nurturing tech SMEs and injecting strong momentum into the province's innovation landscape.
Companies included in the database can benefit from increased tax deductions on research and development (R&D) expenses, interest subsidies on loans, and support as potential high-tech enterprises. These incentives not only reduce R&D costs but also accelerate the commercialization of technological achievements.
The new entrants span strategic emerging industries such as next-generation information technology, advanced equipment manufacturing, new materials, biomedicine, and new energy and energy-saving sectors, aligning with the province's developmental focus.
In recent years, Shanxi has strengthened efforts to cultivate tech SMEs by refining evaluation mechanisms, simplifying application processes, and enhancing policy implementation. These steps have significantly expanded the tech SME community.
Next, Shanxi plans to employ the tech SME database for dynamic management and precise services, ensuring swift access to policy benefits. This will help companies overcome technical challenges and expand their market share.
By establishing industry-academia-research collaboration platforms and offering innovation capacity training, Shanxi also aims to elevate more tech SMEs to high-tech and "little giant" enterprises, building a top-tier innovation ecosystem and achieving high-quality transformation across the province.
