Shanxi appoints 'tech leaders' to enhance industry-research integration
Updated: 2025-09-12
In a strategic move to foster deeper integration between industry, academia, and research, Shanxi province has appointed 50 outstanding tech professionals to serve as "tech leaders" across various enterprises.
These appointees hail from universities and research institutions both within and outside the province, bringing with them extensive research experience and specialized knowledge to support technological innovation in enterprises.
The tech leaders will aid high-tech enterprises, tech-driven small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), "little giant" enterprises, specialized and innovative SMEs, and leading agricultural industrialization companies in tackling critical technological challenges and developing innovation strategies.
They will also offer consultancy on technological innovation and industrial planning, conduct policy briefings and technical training, and facilitate the commercialization and application of research findings from universities and research institutions in the business sector.
To motivate these tech leaders, Shanxi has established a benefit linkage mechanism among enterprises, research units, and the appointees. This initiative aims to boost the enterprises' capacity for independent innovation and core competitiveness. It encourages various innovation entities to pursue breakthroughs in critical core technology, increase investment in technological innovation, and promote the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation.
