Cutting-edge technologies shine at 2025 TELC
Updated: 2025-09-29
The 2025 Taiyuan Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum (TELC) has showcased its technological prowess through a technology innovation parallel forum, a launch event, and a technology achievement roadshow, highlighting the latest advancements and cutting-edge technologies in Shanxi province's energy sector.
In green intelligent mining, China Coal Technology and Engineering Group's Taiyuan Research Institute unveiled its latest generation of rapid coal mine tunneling systems. This system, a global first, is capable of parallel tunneling, support, and transportation operations. Its overall tunneling speed is two to three times faster than traditional methods, setting a world record with a monthly advance of 3,088 meters.
For clean and efficient coal utilization, Lu'an Chemical Group, in collaboration with Tsinghua University, has upgraded the "Jinhua Furnace" to version 3.0. This furnace boasts a carbon conversion rate of 99.8 percent, effectively addressing the gasification challenges of high-ash, high-sulfur, and high-volatile coal. It has become a significant brand for Shanxi's coal gasification technology on the global stage.
In the field of new energy technology, a team led by Sun Hongbin at Taiyuan University of Technology developed a large-scale polar new energy system. Deployed in March at China's Qinling Station in Antarctica, it has successfully demonstrated stable and efficient use of new energy technologies in polar conditions, attracting widespread attention both domestically and internationally.
