In recent years, Shanxi province has actively embraced the "dual carbon" strategy, using its status as a national energy revolution pilot area to establish green power parks as new hubs for industrial transformation.

Green power parks rely primarily on renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. Through innovative models like "integration of source, grid, load, and storage", these parks facilitate the local consumption of green electricity, industrial clustering, and sustainable, low-carbon development, playing a vital role in developing a new energy system.

Shanxi has launched 13 green power park pilots across eight cities, including Datong, Shuozhou, and Xinzhou. These parks focus on industries such as computing power, battery manufacturing, solid waste utilization, chemicals, coal-based equipment manufacturing, coalbed methane equipment, green fuels, and low-altitude economy. Each park employs its unique strengths to attract diverse investments, integrating green electricity with industrial development.

In March, the green power park pilot in the Changzhi High-Tech Zone received formal approval from the Shanxi Provincial Energy Administration. The park employs an innovative "green power line + dedicated green transformer" direct supply model, constructing distributed wind and solar power systems, associated storage facilities, dedicated substations, and smart microgrids to ensure localized consumption of green power.

Capitalizing on the advantages of these green power parks, Shanxi plans to accelerate projects like integrated energy smart platforms, virtual power plants, and new energy storage, actively exploring new business models in the context of green power parks.
