Shanxi to launch Taiyuan-Changsha-Singapore direct flight
Updated: 2025-10-15
China Eastern Airlines will launch a new direct flight route from Taiyuan to Singapore via Changsha on Oct 28. This is currently the only regular direct passenger flight from Shanxi province to Singapore, aimed at meeting the growing travel demand and boosting economic and cultural exchanges between Shanxi and Southeast Asia.
The route will be served by a Boeing B737-800 aircraft, offering three round-trip flights per week. Outbound flight MU2045 will depart every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, leaving Taiyuan Wusu International Airport at 6:15 pm. After a stopover in Changsha, it will arrive at Singapore Changi Airport at 2:00 am the following day. The return flight, MU2046, will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, departing Singapore at 3:00 am and arriving in Taiyuan at 11:30 am after a stop in Changsha.
This new route fills a significant gap in direct flights from Shanxi to Singapore, providing travelers with a more efficient and convenient option. Compared to previous transit routes, the direct flight significantly reduces travel time and enhances convenience, fostering greater interaction between Shanxi and Singapore in business, tourism, and education.
