Shanghai holds 7th Global Jin Merchantry Forum

The 7th Global Jin Merchantry Forum in Shanghai, a key event of the Shanxi delegation at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), took place in Shanghai on Nov 3. The forum featured a main session, a joint meeting, and six specialized activities aimed at enhancing interactions between Shanxi merchants and national social organizations.

Yang Shubing, former deputy director of the Research Office of the State Council, delivered a keynote report on Sino-American relations from the perspective of the rise and fall of Jin Merchantry. Additionally, Hao Peiwen, an expert from the Ministry of Science and Technology, discussed the green transportation evaluation system within the context of carbon neutrality.

The event also included project signings, a handover ceremony for the 2026 rotating chair unit, and the launch of the "Carbon Neutral Industry Innovation Joint Action", alongside an initiative to promote green infrastructure and advance circular economy development.

Moreover, six specialized activities commenced, including a benchmark enterprise inspection focusing on "Green Infrastructure and Circular Economy" on Nov 4, and the Shanxi Federation of Trade Unions' face-to-face exchanges with Shanxi merchants in Shanghai on Nov 5.

Throughout the CIIE, additional events will take place, including Shanxi private enterprise employee study tours, visits by Shanxi entrepreneurs to Shanghai, Shanxi-Shanghai industry cooperation exchanges, and the "World's Shanxi Merchants View the CIIE".
