Participants of the "Shanxi Chapter of Chinese-style Modernization: Shuozhou through the Eyes of Overseas Vloggers" event explored Yingxian Wooden Pagoda and Jingtu Temple in Shuozhou, Shanxi province, on Nov 5.

Immersed in the intricate architecture, they experienced the profound essence of Chinese civilization and the unique charm of the Liao (916-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) dynasties.

The Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, built in 1056, is the oldest and tallest wooden pagoda in China. With its masterful mortise-and-tenon craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage, it has weathered a millennium and is celebrated as one of the "Three Wonders of the World's Pagodas."

Standing before the majestic structure, the vloggers were captivated by its architectural brilliance. Kim Jaehyun from South Korea said, "Under the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, I felt the echoes of history; in the streets of Shuozhou, I sensed the city's warmth. This unforgettable journey has deepened my appreciation for the profound Chinese culture."

Adjacent to the pagoda, Jingtu Temple showcases the solemn elegance of Liao and Jin architecture. The temple's main hall features intricate caisson ceilings and heavenly pavilions, with complex carvings and wooden elements adorned with vibrant paintings. The vloggers slowed their pace, absorbed in the temple's timeless serenity and lingering Zen atmosphere.

This visit allowed them to appreciate the allure of ancient Chinese architecture from a craftsmanship perspective, showcasing Shuozhou's cultural treasures through diverse lenses and building a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the world.
