Shanxi athlete Su Yiming has become the first Chinese snowboarder to secure the 2025-2026 FIS Snowboard Big Air World Cup title, winning the overall championship on Dec 14 with an outstanding performance.
Su's performance was highlighted by his groundbreaking "back-to-back" 1980-degree trick, setting the stage for a remarkable comeback after his failure in 2024. He dominated the first two World Cup events, winning the Yunding stop on Nov 29 and the Beijing Shougang Big Air on Dec 6. His three 1980-degree jumps at the Beijing Shougang Big Air set a new milestone for Chinese snowboarding.
Reflecting on his achievements, Su stated that standing atop the podium was a small goal realized. Looking ahead, he is focused on preparing for the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics, maintaining a calm, disciplined approach to training to achieve even greater breakthroughs.
