The 2026 Invest Thailand Exchange Event (Taiyuan Session) was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, on Jan 26. The event brought together over 50 enterprises from Shanxi and Thailand to explore business opportunities in sectors such as energy equipment manufacturing and specialty agriculture.

Thailand, as Southeast Asia's second-largest economy and a global emerging industrial nation, relies on agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, and services as its pillar industries. Shanxi entrepreneurs are encouraged to gain a deeper understanding of Thailand's investment policies, market environment, and cooperation opportunities.

Leveraging the benefits of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), Shanxi companies are expected to deepen collaboration to achieve mutual benefits and shared development, aligning with Thailand's market industrial demands and investment processes.

Shanxi, designated as a national resource-based economic transformation pilot zone, has a solid industrial foundation in energy equipment manufacturing and specialty agriculture. These sectors complement Thailand's industrial structure, offering substantial potential for cooperation.

Zhang Zhichao, deputy director of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's Commercial Legal Service Center, expressed hope that through joint efforts, Shanxi enterprises and Thai industries can further align their development, sparking new momentum for cooperation.
