The 2026 "Spring Festival in Shanxi" cultural tourism series has launched at "Yangquan Memory·1947" cultural park in Yangquan, showcasing Shanxi's rich cultural heritage and premium tourism resources and inviting both domestic and international visitors to experience the charm of an authentic Chinese New Year.
The series' opening event featured immersive experiences, interactive participation, and theatrical performances that accurately recreated the lifestyle and festive scenes of the 1980s, with nostalgic settings such as a post office, karaoke rooms, and disco halls, along with classic traditional games, allowing visitors to experience the unique allure of traditional Chinese New Year customs firsthand.
Shanxi has also announced four special Spring Festival travel routes, featuring themes such as family outings, Chinese New Year blessings, and trendy entertainment, tailored to meet diverse tourist needs.
As part of the series, Shanxi will host 690 trending activities across all 11 of its cities, including folk performances, hot spring tours, ancient town lantern festivals, and intangible cultural heritage experiences. These events aim to invigorate the winter tourism market and showcase Shanxi’s profound historical and cultural heritage, as well as its unique Chinese New Year charm, to the world.
