The Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce has developed the 2026 Foreign Trade Market Expansion Action Plan to support enterprises in exploring international markets and enhancing their global operational capabilities.

The action plan for 2026 includes organizing a total of 200 exhibitions. Besides the four key domestic exhibitions directly organized by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, the remaining 196 exhibitions comprise 178 overseas exhibitions, 14 domestic foreign-related recommended exhibitions, and four domestic foreign-related cross-border e-commerce exhibitions.

Among the 178 overseas exhibitions, 134 are related to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), 43 are in traditional markets such as the US, Japan, and Europe, and 10 cover other markets. Key domestic foreign-related exhibitions include the China Import and Export Fair, the China (Guangzhou) Cross-Border E-Commerce Fair, and the China International Import Expo.

For online exhibitions, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce will, through an open process, solicit high-performance cross-border e-commerce B2B platforms to be included in the online exhibition directory. Enterprises are encouraged to choose platforms that best meet their product promotion needs. Support will also be provided to companies participating in online exhibitions outside the directory.

Shanxi aims to cement its traditional market share while expanding into emerging markets, particularly BRI and RCEP member countries. The plan seeks to optimize the trade market structure, support the deep integration of Shanxi's competitive industries with foreign trade, and foster new foreign trade momentum with Shanxi characteristics.
