As digital transformation reshapes the cultural and tourism sectors, Shanxi province is setting a new standard for immersive travel experiences through the deep integration of digital technologies and historical and cultural resources.

Several key attractions in the province have pioneered the application of 5G, location services, and augmented/virtual reality, offering visitors route planning, real-time navigation, and immersive experiences.

The Yunqiu Mountain Scenic Area, for example, is advancing the implementation of technologies like 5G and AI cloud networks to build a comprehensive digital experience and service system. By leveraging high-precision 3D modeling and digital twin technology, the scenic area is able to digitally restore ancient buildings and festive scenes, creating a new interactive smart tourism ecosystem.

Zhangbi Ancient Fortress Scenic Area has launched China's first large-space mixed reality interactive project, "The Sleeping Fortress", which has sparked a wave of enthusiasm among visitors. Utilizing LBMR technology, the project creates an expansive interactive space where visitors, equipped with special glasses, become explorers of the ancient fortress, breathing new life into traditional sites through the use of advanced technology.

The Shanxi Cultural Tourism Digital Experience Museum employs AI, mixed reality, big data, holographic imaging, motion capture, and CAVE spaces to recreate and showcase 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, allowing visitors to discover a different side of Shanxi.

With the innovative application of digital technologies, Shanxi's tourism not only offers higher quality experiences but also provides infinite possibilities for the creative transformation and innovative development of Shanxi's traditional culture.
