Shanxi scenic spots unveil unique Lantern Festival folk activities

During Lantern Festival, various attractions across Shanxi province are set to offer an array of activities such as lantern displays, riddle guessing, and gourmet tasting, promising visitors an authentic cultural experience.
The Hongtong Dahuaishu Scenic Area will host the "Pagoda Tree Blessings·Lantern Festival Joy" cultural event, which blends ancient traditions with modern flair, allowing visitors to trace the roots of Chinese culture.
Participants who successfully complete the "12 Chinese Zodiac Signs Welcome Chinese New Year" challenge or share live videos from the scenic area on social platforms like Douyin and Xiaohongshu will receive a complimentary bowl of yuanxiao, a traditional festival treat.
On the day of Lantern Festival, Yuncheng's Yunqiu Mountain Scenic Area will host a live broadcast from the Kangjiaping Lantern Festival Experience Booth. This immersive setup will showcase the entire handmade yuanxiao process in real-time, accompanied by online interactions and giveaways, aiming to convert online engagement into on-site visits.
From March 2 to 3, Changzhi's Zhenxing Town will hold a series of folk performances including molten iron fireworks displays and dragon and lion dances, offering a traditional yet innovative festive experience, while a drone show with 1,000 drones will showcase the power of technology.
Meanwhile, Taiyuan's Qinglong Ancient Town has prepared captivating performances and engaging lantern riddles. In addition to the fixed-stage performances, actors will interact with visitors throughout the scenic spots, creating unforgettable memories for visitors.
