Taiyuan Ancient City Park has recently become a sea of flowers as it hosts the Chinese Rose Cultural Week – a sub-event for the Sixth Taiyuan Chinese Rose Exhibition. The cultural week will continue until the end of May, offering free admission to the public.

The park is currently in peak Chinese rose viewing season, with over 6,000 square meters dedicated to more than 50,000 rose plants of various species. In concentrated planting areas, Chinese roses bloom in clusters, showcasing a stunning array of colors, including red, pink, white, and orange-yellow. The park also features exquisite potted Chinese roses, each with unique colors and shapes, which reveal their full beauty when viewed up close.

Beyond the flower exhibition, the park has organized a series of cultural activities. A Chinese rose-themed educational exhibit provides detailed information on the growth habits, species classification, and daily care of roses through informative display boards. The horticulture lecture invites professional horticulturists to offer on-site lessons, covering topics such as interpretations of floral culture and flower arrangement techniques, encouraging interactive learning among visitors.

In the evening, the park hosts a molten iron fireworks show, a national intangible cultural heritage performance. Performers swing fiery lanterns, creating a mesmerizing dance of light and sparks. This spectacle contrasts with the quietly blooming roses at night, making it a highlight of the cultural week.
