Shanxi's cultural and tourism departments have been actively promoting the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism in recent years, cultivating a number of rural tourism destinations and charting a new pathway for rural vitalization and prosperity.

"Integrating agriculture and tourism is a powerful driver for promoting rural vitalization and increasing local incomes," said an official from the Shanxi Provincial Culture and Tourism Department's resource development division, with various regions in Shanxi working diligently to enhance rural tourism services, enrich new tourism offerings, and elevate brand recognition and reputation.

Tangjiabao village in Datong serves as a prime example. Centered on the yellow flower industry, the village has developed unique tourism areas, including Wangyou Town, a yellow flower-themed industrial park, a water eco-village, and a yellow flower sightseeing and picking zone. This has transformed the village into a green landmark that combines ecology and the yellow flower industry.

Shanxi currently boasts six national key rural tourism towns, 39 national key rural tourism villages, 28 provincial key rural tourism towns, and 332 provincial key rural tourism villages.

Shanxi plans to further develop several national historic and cultural towns and Chinese traditional villages into tourism destinations with beautiful ecological environments and rich cultural heritage, transforming stunning rural landscapes into tangible sources of income.
