The 2026 China Dragon Boat Open (Shanxi·Taiyuan) and the Taiyuan Fenhe River Dragon Boat Open will take place from June 18 to 19 at the Taiyuan Aquatic Sports Center.

This year's event features men's, women's, and open categories, with a total of 24 teams and 464 participants competing. In addition to the Shanxi team, top-level teams from eight provinces, including Hunan, Hubei, Jilin, Zhejiang, and Guangdong, will compete in the men's and women's categories.

The open category will include local participants from government agencies, universities, social groups, and dragon boat enthusiasts.

The men's events will feature 22-person dragon boats in 100m, 200m, and 500m sprints, as well as a 2,000m pursuit race. Both the women's and open categories will have 12-person dragon boats in 100m, 200m, and 500m sprints. 

To enrich the event, organizers have arranged water sports experiences, sports brand exhibitions, and a marketplace showcasing local specialties and traditional foods. From June 18 to 19, Taiyuan residents can participate in dragon boat activities as families or individuals.
