The fourth Jiangzhou Ancient City Summer Festival, to be held in Xinjiang county in Yuncheng, Shanxi province, will kick off on July 29. The event will offer a culturally rich and community-focused summer celebration with themed activities, aiming to delight citizens and tourists with its unique blend of cultural depth and community warmth.

On July 29 and 30, Jiangzhou Square will host two consecutive themed performances to ignite the summer nights. The shows will spotlight the ancient city's millennia-old charm through down-to-earth cultural acts. Highlights include a theatrical performance and poetry recitals inspired by Sanquan town’s century-old tales of integrity.

From July 31 to Aug 9, the spotlight will be on the artistic talents of the new generation, showcasing a robust continuation of the ancient city's cultural legacy. On Aug 10, the stage will highlight agricultural culture and folk traditions, presenting a panoramic view of rural vitalization through artists from various towns.

From Aug 11 to 15, Jiangzhou Ancient City will host special performances by the Xinjiang County Puju Opera Troupe, featuring classic plays and captivating excerpts. The grand finale, making local residents the stars of the summer night's cultural stage, will run from Aug 16 to 29 at the Jiangzhou scenic area visitor center.

Held for several years, Xinjiang county's summer festival has grown into a significant cultural brand. This year's edition focuses on public participation and cultural benefits, aiming to enrich the community's summer nights and invigorate the ancient city's cultural and tourism vitality.
