The Shanxi Provincial Department of Finance has implemented a range of measures, including special funds, industrial funds, interest subsidies, and diverse financing options, to advance cultural and tourism integration across the province this year.

The department has allocated central and provincial cultural and tourism funds to support major events such as the Pingyao International Film Festival, the Fifth Art Festival of Shanxi, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Consumption Season. The goal is to develop a comprehensive consumption environment that integrates exhibitions, markets, educational tours, and cultural creations.

During the Intangible Cultural Heritage Consumption Season, funding supported the sale of 65 provincial intangible cultural heritage products both offline and online. The department also continues to invest in stage arts, online audiovisual projects, and the crafting of distinctive cultural tourism routes, while further improving public tourism services.

Shanxi has also established a provincial cultural tourism industry development investment fund. This fund leverages social capital to upgrade scenic spots, develop digital cultural tourism, and explore winter sports tourism.

The department annually allocates funds for the preservation of 39 national-level heritage sites, such as the Foguang Temple. It has pioneered the use of general government bonds for the restoration of lower-grade cultural relics, with 755 million yuan ($111.9 million) allocated from 2023 to 2025 for 567 restoration projects.

The Shanxi Provincial Department of Finance will continue to prioritize funding, policies, and management resources for the cultural and tourism sectors, providing robust financial support for Shanxi's development as a hub of cultural and tourism integration.
