Updated: 2026-09-14
Shanxi province showcased its strategic shift toward emerging industries with an upgraded investment-promotion approach and a delegation of 13 tech-driven companies presenting cutting-edge products and technological advancements at the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), held from Sept 8 to 11 in Xiamen.
By focusing on chain-based and targeted investment strategies, the province highlighted its transformation from a resource-based economy to one driven by innovation and technology.
This year, Shanxi has concentrated on key sectors such as optoelectronics, third-generation semiconductors, and low-altitude equipment.
These globally pioneering products underscored Shanxi's unique approach to the circular growth of its new materials industry, highlighting its comprehensive research capabilities and full-chain development advantages.
The province has shifted from passive participation and broad promotion to a more selective, strategic approach. This shift from attracting investment to selecting quality partners helps companies connect precisely with upstream and downstream resources, facilitating effective collaboration.
Participating enterprises noted that chain-based group participation enabled precise government-enterprise and inter-company matchmaking, making negotiations more targeted and productive.
Through a comprehensive process involving pre-event coordination, meticulous on-site services, and post-event follow-up, Shanxi provided tailored investment manuals, intelligent query services, and a registration ledger for intentions. These efforts have laid a solid foundation for project implementation, charting a new chapter in regional industrial cooperation with a pragmatic investment approach.
