The 2025 China Tennis Tour Taiyuan Open kicked off on June 9 at the Taiyuan Binhe Sports Center, Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province.

This marks the city's debut China Tennis Tour and its first-ever hosting of a national-level tennis competition.

The tournament, a CTA800 event, has attracted over 200 participants, targeting professional players and provincial and municipal athletes. It features men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and women's doubles. Qualifying rounds took place from June 9 to 10, and are followed by the main draw from June 11 to 15.

In recent years, Taiyuan has advanced its goal of becoming a leading sports city by hosting high-standard events, including the WTT Taiyuan tournament, the China Tennis Tour Taiyuan Open, the Fenhe River Dragon Boat Open, and the Taiyuan Marathon.

These initiatives aim to establish a distinctive sports event system, enhancing the city's reputation as a sports hub and driving high-quality development in public fitness.
