At the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, the "large-scale hydraulic rolling shearing technology and equipment for wide and thick steel plates" invented by the Taiyuan University of Science and Technology defeated more than 1,000 top achievements from nearly 40 countries worldwide, winning the gold award.

The pioneering hydraulic cylinder-driven composite linkage mechanism can accurately address the issue of non-adjustable cutting lines. The new 11-bar hydraulic rolling shearing mechanism can reduce equipment weight by over 60 percent, thanks to the increase in steel plate specifications.

The intelligent hydraulic control system ensures zero deviation in the shearing process, and the innovative hydraulic cylinder structure, designed to withstand anti-eccentric loads, enhances the stability of hydraulic servo systems to industry-leading levels.

This achievement has garnered more than 20 domestic and international patents and has been widely applied in leading steel enterprises.

The efficiency of each production line has increased by more than 30 percent as a result. The horizontal hydraulic cylinder booster design reduces the equipment's installed power by 35 percent, and the weight and investment cost are reduced by 40 percent. The modular structure design also reduces equipment installation and debugging cycles by 50 percent and lowers maintenance costs by 30 percent.
