For over 70 years, ‌Shanxi Electric Motor Manufacturing Co, a State-owned enterprise in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province, has forged an expansive technological path through relentless innovation.

The company has upgraded its production facilities in recent years: In ‌May 2014‌, it completed a ‌relocation and transformation project‌ with an investment of ‌500 million yuan ($69.66 million)‌, enhancing its overall equipment capabilities.

Now, it is constructing an ‌"efficient motor and system energy-saving R&D and manufacturing base"‌ east of its current site. This large-scale technological upgrade introduces ‌120 intelligent motor production units‌ and ‌six smart production lines‌, while advancing ‌digital and information-based management‌ for full-process intelligent control.

Once operational, the company's ‌annual motor production capacity‌ will rise from ‌4.5 million kW to 6 million kW‌, achieving breakthroughs in ‌both efficiency and product quality‌. The company's ‌green foundry base‌, developed in collaboration with the ‌Jiaokou Economic Development Zone‌, has also completed equipment procurement and is set to begin production by the end of 2025‌. This facility will become a ‌new force in regional motor casting‌, adding ‌100 million yuan in annual output value‌.

By the end of ‌2024‌, the company held ‌110 valid patents‌, including ‌29 invention patents‌ and ‌nine PCT international patents‌. It has also participated in drafting ‌63 national and industry standards‌, with ‌50 currently in effect‌.
