The 2025 China Computational Power Conference was held from Aug 22 to 24 in Datong, North China's Shanxi province. Shanxi's computational power exhibition area, themed "Energy Transition, Industrial Upgrading, and Diversified Development," showcased the province's confidence in establishing itself as a national hub for computing power.

In recent years, the provincial capital Taiyuan has strengthened its digital infrastructure. The city's national internet major direct interconnection point operates smoothly with a total bandwidth of 2,600G, laying a solid foundation for efficient data transmission and computing power scheduling.

The Taiyuan National Supercomputing Center serves key national and provincial laboratories, research institutions, universities, government agencies, and enterprises, forming an integrated computing power platform for industry-academia collaboration.

China Mobile (Shanxi Taiyuan) Data Center Phase II, the largest intelligent computing center in the province, has launched with a computing capacity of 2,000 PFLOPS. The city has deployed more than 20,000 5G base stations and launched several industrial internet identifier resolution secondary nodes, along with an international internet data special channel.

In Taiyuan, computing power is deeply integrated with the real economy. The Shanxi Coal Industry Internet Platform, which has been operational for over a year, has listed more than 1,900 smart hardware and software products, helping partners develop 1,094 scenario-based models and attracting over 700 upstream and downstream enterprises in the coal industry's intelligent transformation.

In 2024, "Several Measures on Accelerating Digital Economic Development in Taiyuan" were implemented to support digital infrastructure and core industries. The "Taiyuan Digital Economy Development 2025 Action Plan" further propels the computing power industry toward higher-quality growth.
